| International name of Singulair is Montelukast Pharmacological action of Singulair:
Singulair is antagonist of leukotriene receptors. Singulair eliminates bronchospasm, prevents surplus formation of mucus in the bronchus hypostasis of airways’ mucous membrane. It reduces heaviness of bronchial asthma and frequency of asthmatic attacks. Singulair is very effective for treatment of persistent asthma, which is badly controlled by bronchodilators. Its broncholytic action develops during 1 day and is saved for a long time. Indication of Singulair: - preventive measures for bronchial asthma and long-term treatment of asthma including prevention of daily and nightly asthma symptoms; - Treatment of bronchial asthma in case if patients have increased sensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid ; - The preventionof the bronchospasm caused by physical exercises. Important information: Therapeutic action of singulair on asthma course develops within the first day. Patients should continue to take singulair both during achievement period of control over the asthma symptoms, and during exacerbation of asthma. Singulair is not recommended for treatment of sharp attacks of bronchial asthma. |

| Dosage of singulair: Preparation is taken inside 1 time a day irrespectively of food intake. For treatment of bronchial asthma the doze of preparation should be taken in the evening. For adults the doze of singulair is 10 mg 1 pill a day. For children in the age from 6 till 14 years the doze is 5 mg a day. | ![]() |
| Side-effects of Singulair: Rash, itch, drowsiness, irritability, fatigue, sleeplessness, nausea, stomach pain.
